Gear up & off on another joyride for 'Huff n'Puff'. Built to a 1951 USAF order as 51-3722. Converted to AT-28D standard and to R. Thai AF 1965-75. Also operated by Air America in Laos. To Philippine AF 1976-87. Civilianised and based Manila as RP-R280 1988 for restoration using parts from 51-3782. To Brisbane 1990 & restoration - ff 5 Aug 2001. This former RAAF Parrot was allocated the New Zealand ferry registration ZK-DVZ and was taken on RAAF charge on 23 May 1975. After service at 1 FTS Point Cook, it was sold on 29 September 1993. Originally registered as VH-PAH, it was re-registered as VH-DMI on 8 July 2002. Currently based in Queensland, it did a roaring trade in joyflights at the Wide Bay International Airshow.
This is actually the second Tiger Moth to carry the rego VH-APE. This one was also built for the RAAF as A17-218. Post-war it was civilianised in 1947 as VH-BCS but was withdrawn from use in 1963. Restored, it was returned to the Register as VH-APE on 22 August 1987. Currently based in NSW, it was one of the aircraft in a vintage fly-past at the Wide Bay International Airshow.
This RV-6 is a long way from its current home in Port Lincoln, SA, although its cn shows it was orignally built in Queensland. First registered on 27 June 2001 and seen here at the Wide Bay International Airshow.
