Crashed into the sea off Okinawa on October 25, 1968. The left wing folded on take off from the HMS Hermes. All three crew were killed. It was the second Gannet crash in three days. XL451, which had been at Nowra with XL455 was lost in a non-fatal bolter on the 22nd. Photo by John Hopton
