Escapologist Harry Houdini brought this Voisin to Australia during a theatrical tour. At Diggers Rest on March 18, 1910 he made what is claimed to be the first sustained and controlled flight in Australia. While the flight is undoubted, whether it was the first remains a matter of debate. Houdini made 18 flights in Australia and the Voisin was shipped to the UK when he left the country. He never flew again and the eventual fate of the Voisin is not known. It seems it too never flew again. Photo from: National Library of Australia
Registration / Serial:No Reg
Aircraft Version:Voisin II
