In Yaruquí, near Quito's new airport there is a public school in which the fuselage of this T-33 lies. Apparently it was brought to be used for some educational or recreational purpose (perhaps for the playground), but it hasn't been touched for years. The instruments and seat are gone but on the inside you can see that this was former FAE-632.

A nice monument was erected to commemorate the Ecuadorian Air Force's 23rd combat wing in which the "Tiburones" or "Sharks" (T-33s) were based. One of the T-33s was used for this. Unfortunately, this monument was destroyed after the Manabí earthquake, April 16, 2016.

A nice monument was erected to commemorate the Ecuadorian Air Force's 23rd combat wing in which the "Tiburones" or "Sharks" (T-33s) were based. One of the T-33s was used for this. Unfortunately, this monument was destroyed after the Manabí earthquake, April 16, 2016.

This helicopter was seized circa 2003 / 2004 from someone involved in illegal activities (probably a drug lord, I don't recall completely), and was added to the Ecuadorian National Police fleet. Unfortunately it was written off after a hard landing near Cayambe on 17 August 2005. Fortunately nobody was injured nor lost their lives during this incident.
