Operating the MiG-29 is too expensive for most of the (former) East European countries. The Romanian MiG-29 were due for an update, but instead they were put up for sale.

This Puma was in store during our visit and it looked uncertain whether it would fly again. According to the books it was written off in 2006.

Rarely photographed in these eye-catching colours which almost made up for the lack of the forecast sun, I seem to recall that they'd put the titles on the other side of the tail in similar fashion but up-side-down!
