Air Canada ordered a total of 39 727-233s with deliveries beginning in 1974. This one, delivered October 19, 1979, was withdrawn in November 1992. It was sold to Federal Express January 6, 1993 and converted to a freighter. FedEx bought 34 of Air Canada's 727-200s as they were retired; this one was eventually donated to Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in May 2012 to be used for firefighter training at Buffalo airport.
