This Do-27 was built in 1958 and was Taken on Charge with the West German AF as 5647. In 1973 it was registered D-ELVK and has been preserved at EDAZ since 2010. The fake zebra markings commemorate the son of the famous zoologist Prof. Dr. Bernhard Grzimek, who was flying aboard Do-27 when it crashed in the Serengeti in 1959.
