Turkey became an F-4 operator in August of 1974, when the 1st of 40 new built F-4E ordered under the "Peace Diamond I" FMS program were delivered to 113 Filo. 73-1031 shown her was part of that initial batch, joining the TuAF in May 1975. It was one of 54 F-4W's selected for the "2020 Terminator" upgrade by IAI and Turkish Aerospace as from 1999. Note the "Filo 112 - Seytanlar - 1952 - 2015" sticker on the air inlet, paying tribute to Squadron 112 (established in 1952) and which operated the F-4E since the mid 1970's until the unit stood down in June 2015.
