Built in 1991 and severely damaged on 13th November 2020 at Novosibirsk-Tolmachovo on a flight from Seoul to Vienna when engine No. 2 suffered an uncontained failure after a bird strike shortly after take-off. The fuselage was punctured by compressor blades (leading to a loss of electricity and communications) while other parts of the damaged engine holed the roof of a warehouse. The aircraft made an over-weight emergency landing at Tolmachovo and overran the runway into snow-covered terrain by 300 metres. Pulled out by Russian Army tanks, it was stripped and was in pieces by mid-2022 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
