Manufactured in 1944 at the Ford Motor Company plant at Willow Run in 1944/1945 for USAAF as B-24L (serial No. 44-50186). Redesignated GR Mk. VIII on 24 May 1945 (conversion to anti-submarine role). Operated by RAF (Serial No. 5009), RCAF and finally by Indian Air Force (Serial No. HE773) from 1949 to 1968. Acquired by the museum in 1968 from India in exchange for a Westland Lysander. Currently stored in a very interesting, but also very cramped reserve hangar. This photo is copyright © WalAndPl, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
