The Polikarpov Po-2 was a very versatile aircraft, used by the Soviet Union in a variety of roles during WW II. Its first flight took place on 27 June 1927, and thousands were produced and served well into the late 50s. Without doubt, this type of aircraft deserved a prominent place with the excellent collection at Monino, keeping it well preserved inside the main exhibiiton building.
