This S-55 was taken on charge with the RDAF in February 1957, originally as 88-884 but changed in 1960 to S-884 in 1960. It was wfu in August 1966 and then stored at various places in Belgium, England and Denmark. By this time the it had fallen into disrepair and so the Ringkøbing-Skjern Ungdomsskole at Opsund in started restoration in 2004. By 2008 the process was completed and the beautifully restored helicopter joined the Danmarks Flymuseum for display. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
