This Monoplane was built in 1912 but placed into storage two years later. It was rediscovered in 1937 by chance, when it found at the back of a barn concealed by hay. It was acquired by Richard Shuttleworth for restoration, which was completed in 1949. Weather permitting, it continues to fly at Shuttleworth Collection events and is the oldest airworthy aircraft of British origin anywhere in the world. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
