The Mk.24 was the final variant of the Spitfire and this particular aircraft, built by Supermarine at South Marston in 1947, saw RAF service in Hong Kong with 80 Sqdn and later with the Royal Hong Kong Defence Force until 1955. After local refurbishment in 1983 it went on show outside RHKAAF HQ at Kai Tak for five years This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
