Painted to represent a Liberator of the 392nd Bomb Group based at Wendling, Norfolk in WWII, this was in fact the last active B-24 with the USAF and was used by the Aeronautical Icing Research Laboratory as an EZB-24M. After crashing in 1951 it was repaired and placed on static display at Lackland AFB, TX from 1956 until donated to the IWM for the new American Air Museum at Duxford in 1999 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
