This Bell Helicopter was delivered as an AH-1E with the serial 78-23061 to the US Army in 1979. It served with the US Army until May 2004 when it was decommissioned and transfered to the USDA Forest Service as N347WN. As such it flew to combat forest fires until April 2011 when the civil registration was cancelled from the register.
