When East West ceased using VH-EWE on airline services, it was reregistered VH-BPT in June 1956 to free EWE for a DC-3. BPT was converted to a freighter and then a rain-maker. Two years later is was back in the EW block as VH-EWR but still used for rain-making. It was sold in 1962 to Adastra as VH-AGE for aerial survey work. AGE was destroyed in a crash at Tennant Creek on September 24, 1966. This photo is copyright © Ed Coates / CAHS, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
