Delivered new to Qantas Empire Airways in 1958, transferring to TAA (Trans Australia Airlines) in 1960; operated for both on wheels in Papua New Guinea. Exported to Canada in 1969 initially as CF-YLZ, becoming C-FYLZ in 1983. Joined the associated companies Mattice Lake Outfitters and Wabakimi Air at Armstrong, Ontario in 2006 following conversion to Walter 601 turbine power at Silver Falls, Manitoba. After a landing accident involving a submerged rock, refurbished by Recon Air and repainted in this striking black and white scheme for 2013. This photo is copyright © David A.
