An order for three A310s and three options was announced by BCal in 1979, the first two (G-BKWT and G-BKWU) being delivered in March 1984. But by mid-1985 changes in the airline's route network meant that the type was no longer viable on its routes - too big for short-haul and too small for long-haul. So the third on order and the options were cancelled. In a devious set of sanction-busting transactions, 'WU found its way to Libyan Arab as 5A-DLB in June 1986, later becoming 7T-VJF, JY-AGV and TS-IGV. Used as an instructional airframe from 2006 at Amman. Right wing now broken off. This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
