From 9th Aug. to 10th Dec. 1947, the 'City of Washington' & 'City of The Angels' (now at the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven, PA) circumnavigated the globe, the first time for a light personal aircraft. Flags of each nation they visited adorn the fuselage port side and 53 of 55 city stops on the starboard side. On display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
