Photographer: Tony de Bruyn. K25 slide scan. Built 1960 as DC-8-42 CF-TJH for Trans Canada, renamed Air Canada 1964. Returned to Douglas as N10DC 1977 and converted to DC-8-54F by exchanging the Conway engines for Pratt and Whitneys and delivered to Zantop as N4561B, Kalitta N803CK 1987. In 1992 Kalitta struck a deal with Air Zaire trading the overhauled airframe to them as 9Q-CLV receiving in turn DC-8-63CF 9Q-CLG which was in need of overhaul. Transferred to Lignes Aeriennes Congolaises 1997. While parked at Goma 2002 a lava stream cut the runway short with the aircraft unable to leave.
