Used to carry tourists to Rottnest Island off the coast of Perth. Flights stopped when Ansons were barred from carrying passengers or flying over water. After a failed attempt to sell VH-WAB to the Dutch air force in Dutch New Guinea, it was donated to a farming friend of Jimmy Woods as a play thing for children. By 1969 it was derelict and by 1974 had been removed to the tip. Photo from: State Library of Western Australia This photo was added on 4 May 2023, and has since been viewed 477 times. |
