Used for rain-making experiments. Retired in 1958 and sold to Adastra Airways at Sydney airport. When Adastra applied to reregister the aircraft, the Department of Civil Aviation advised that under the conditions the CSIRO registered VH-WMA it had to be scrapped when retired by it. Registration cancelled in December 1959 and the aircraft finally carted off from Sydney airport as scrap in 1963.
