Canada is a pioneer in the field of airborne geophysics and Ottawa Airport have been home base for several airborne survey aircraft operators since the mid-1950s. This 1996 208B was imported by Thunder Airlines to service remote First Nations communities from Pickle Lake, ON, in December 1996. In late 1997, it began its aerial survey career with Cargaard Aviation, Terra Surveys, Fugro Aviation Canada (2002), and CGG Aviation (Canada) (2006) which reflects a series of mergers and acquisitions. Exported in 2015 as N569WA. In 2023 it was flying with Airpac Airlines, Inc. in Port Angeles, WA. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
