July/45: TOS USAAF as B-29A 44-62070. April/46: Converted to TB-29. October/51 to April/52: Restored back to B-29A. April/52: 310th Bomb Wing, Smoky Hill AFB, KS. August/53: 3510th Flying Training Wing, Randolph AFB, TX. November/53: Converted to TB-29A. October/56: TOS USN; to Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA; used as a range target. March/71: Confederate Air Force with c/n N4249. Restored to ferry. August/71: Ferried to Harlingen, TX. By 1978: Restored using parts from three other B-29s. August/81: Re-registered as N529B. 1983: Used in the movie, "The Right Stuff" as the mother ship. 2006-2010: Full overhaul and new engines.
