Forced landed on remote Sable Island after the crew realised returning to their base at Dartmouth was no longer possible. Reports say the aircraft landed in a freshwater lagoon and a lighthouse keeper altered authorities. The crew were flown back to base in a Catalina but the aircraft was abandoned. Sable Island is subject to significant erosion. Photo from: Library and Archives Canada This photo was added on 23 October 2022, and has since been viewed 482 times. |
