Initially conceived as a two-seat training version of the F-100, to help reduce the retatively high rate of accident losses, the F-version in SE Asia proved ideally suited for new missions: surface to air missile (SAM) suppression ('Iron Hand') and high-speed forward air control ('Misty FAC'). This Hun was a Misty FAC aircraft assigned to the 37th TFW at Phu Cat AB, Vietnam and went on display at the National Museum of the USAF in 2003. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
