The NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) acquired 26 Beech CT-156 Harvard II turboprop trainers (Serials 156101-156126) which started replacing the Canadair CT-114 Tutor in 1999. New RCAF student pilots take their Primary Flight Training on the Grob G 120A at the 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (3 CFFTS) conducts Students take their at the Southport Aerospace Centre near Portage la Prairie, MB. The CT-156 is used to teach the Phase II Basic course at 2 CFFTS at CFB Moose Jaw, after which students will be streamed into the different platforms (jet, multi-engine, or helicopter).
