Support aircraft for the 5th Bombardment Group, the "Bomber Barons". At the time of the photo the group was based in the Philippines but the photo caption says it was taken in Borneo. The Allies had landed in Borneo in May 1945 and several airfields were in their hands by July 1945 when this photo was taken. They are in present day Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. 42-23418 was scrapped when the war ended.
