This PT-13 as 42-17724 was based at Moton Field, Alabama during WWII and used to train the pilots that became known as the Tuskegee Airmen. The 'Spirit of Tuskeegee' is on temporary display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center until ready to be accepted by the Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC).
