View of DHC aircraft factory site at Downsview Airport built in 1929-1945 looking NW in Jan. 2010. The 1929 DHC factory site is in the middle of the photo, to the right and below the road crossing the N-S railway line (see No. 429170). The larger building below (with 3 east-facing doors and 4 south-facing doors) was the wartime Anson II & Mosquito factory and postwar DHC production & MRO plant until a new factory opened in 1954. It then became RCAF Downsview & CFB Toronto until 1996. It is now part of Downsview Park. Runway 15-33 is to the right of the photo. The airport will close in 2023.
