The MiG-19 was the first Soviet production aircraft capable of level supersonic flight. The PM version (Farmer-E) entered production in 1957 and had the cannons removed and replaced by four Kaliningrad K-5M (AA-1 'Alkali') beam-riding missiles. This example is on display at the Central Museum of the Air Forces at Monino. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
