Originaly built for USAF as 59-1604. Transferred to the US Navy and given Bureau Number 591604. Initially assigned to the US Navy TOPGUN school as an aggressor aircraft, later assigned to US Navy Test Pilot School. Acquired by the museum in 2000, still in USNTPS markings.
