In the early 70's Allegheny was adding second hand aircraft to their DC-9 VistaJet fleet. This is one of five aircraft delivered to Northeast Airlines in 1967 and bought from Delta Airlines in 1974. N943VJ was registered to Allegheny on August 15, 1974 and was finally sold by US Airways in 1998 to Express One International. It was later broken up at Miami - Opa Locka, FL.
