This Chinook belonged to the 1-160th SOAR and accompanied POTUS George Bush during an unexpected visit to the US Embassy-Kabul. Multiple 1-160th CH-47Ds, MH-47Gs, UH-60LS and two HMX-1 VH-60Ns landed on or near HQ ISAF that is close to the US Embassy. Overhead was an AC-130 and a flight of A-10s gave Close Air Support while F-16s gave top cover. Quite an operation! The helicopters at HQ ISAF were on idle during the whole visit. Due to tight security measures, not all helicopters could be appraoched, but this one was. 350 is former CH-47B 66-19060 that was converted to CH-47D 85-24350 and CH-47F 09-08068.
