This Seven Seas opened KLM's polar route Amsterdam - Tokyo, with ANC as the only stop, winds permitting. The route was later extended to Biak, Netherlands New Guinea. The same plane's delivery flight in September had been Santa Monica - Cold Bay - Tokyo - Fairbanks - Anchorage - Amsterdam as a test.
