Crashed attempting an emergency landing at Winton, Queensland, on September 22, 1966. An engine fire had spread to the wing, which failed 25km from the airport. The fire started in a faulty cabin pressurisation blower and the inquiry found there had been others. Those fires had not been reported to the blower manufacturer or Viscount operators.
