Ex RAAF A7-17. Brought on to the civil register for use by the government-backed aero club movement, starting at Rockhampton in December 1930 . In 1935 VH-UPK switched to the Royal Queensland Aero Club. Returned to the RAAF in 1940 as A7-83 but was reduced to spares.
