Originally delivered to Allegheny Airlines November 21, 1975 (N22VJ), Eastern Airlines acquired this and Allegheny's seven other DC-9-51s in 1978 by trading DC-9-30s and cash. In the fleet until Eastern closed the doors in 1991, it went to Avensa in Venezuela until withdrawn and stored at Caracas in March 1998.
