One of the two famous Virgin Jumbo special shape balloons came out of retirement for the Bristol Balloon Fiesta's 40th event. It is no longer airworthy, but it was inflated and tethered for crowds to enjoy on the Saturday. G-UMBO was registered to Virgin Atlantic Airways in April 1986, then to Virgin Airship and Balloon Co. Ltd in April 1991. It was permanently retired in 2002 and cancelled from the register in February 2003.

Registered to The British Balloon Museum and Library since June 2014.

Built in 1990, this balloons Certificate of Airworthiness expired in 1995. It made a tethered inflation at the British Balloon Museum and Library Inflation Day in Cambridgeshire. A massive, impressive sight, fortunately now preserved

Hot air balloons have a limited life as their fabric becomes porous to hot air and most are capable of being inflated for about 400 hours. This example was built in 1989 and its certificate of airworthiness expired in 1997. It is in the shape of a hop and advertises a low alcohol beer with a registration of G-MALT another constituent of beer, though as I recall the product was a stranger to both !
