According to some sources, the IAR-23 touring aircraft was originally conceived as a fighter. The sole example was used by Gheorghe Bănciulescu, a pilot who had both his legs amputated after a crash in 1926. He made a Bucharest - Vienna - Paris flight in 8 hours and 40 minutes and it looks like the photo was taken at LBG.
