Alastair Gardiner's photo #58686 was taken at touchdown and shows the deteriorating paintwork on the right side of the fin. This photo was taken two minutes later and depicts the even worse state of the left side of the fin.

This 320 was delivered to Ansett in April 1989 as VH-HYG. It was returned to the lessor in August 2002 and next placed with BH Air in May 2003 as LZ-BHA. A short lease followed to Pacific Airlines before joining Greece Airways in June 2006 (operated for Air Scotland). The arrangement didn't work out and the plane sat parked up at Glasgow (GLA) for over a year (pictured). It was finally placed with Jordan Aviation as JY-JAC in May 2008, who operated it themsleves but have also sub-leased it out to Syrianair, RAM, and from March 2019 it now flies for Cubana and is the oldest 320 still flying.

Off to a warmer country!

The Air Scotland 757 is based at Glasgow and usually night stops on the other side of this pier or parks remote so it has taken me 3 months to catch it here on Stand 33 (best one for night shots). This aircraft is due to go back to Thomas Cook at the end of April 2004. (D60 ISO 100 4 secs @ F6.7)

An early evening arrival for runway 05

This was the latest Air Scotland 757 on lease from Air 2000 (ex G-OOOS) and was parked on Stand 34 for the night after its second day of operations for the airline. It had arrived the previous evening after painting at Bournemouth but some letters and two patches on the tail had flaked off already. This one had large GREECE AIRWAYS titles on the rear of both sides. (D60 ISO 100 3 secs & F6.7 55mm).

The sole Air Scotland 757 had been taken out of action for maintenance over 3 weeks earlier, it was arriving back to land on Runway 05 after a 30 minute test flight.

This is the very last ever picture of the sole Air Scotland 757 at Glasgow as it lines up for departure from Runway 23 to ferry down to Lasham for maintenance and painting into JET2 colours, its new owner. Sadly the Air Scotland name went into history, but the owners intended to lease two A320s and fly under the name "Greece Airways," based in Spain, to commence flights in June 2006.
