As of September 2025, four operators are using AW139 helicopters in the HEMS role in Queensland. Besides LifeFlight, CQRescue Charity and Babcock MCS Australasia, the Queensland Government operates five AW139's. The short nose of VH-ESZ - seen here returning from a post maintenance flight - reveals it as an early productions model. It's actually a 2008 built airframe, making it one of the oldest AW139's still in service "Down Under". So far, some 48 AW139's found their way into the australian HEMS market.

Delivered new to QGAir in April 2019

VH-ESH was the very first HEMS / SAR AW139 introduced to Australia in 2007, and thus the oldest when pictured in Archerfield in September 2022, operating under callsign "RSCU500". Since 2007, some 35 additional AW139 followed with different australian HEMS / SAR operators, the Queensland Government Air (Service) being one of them, operating five AW139's.

The local rescue chopper starting up again after dropping off a patient at the hospital. This helicopter was built in 2008 and re-registered VH-EZJ(2) on 11 November 2011.

VH-ESD was registered in July 1995.
