Following its deployment to Alconbury (UK) with the 1st TRS, this RF-4C became an instructional airframe at Aviano (Italy) up to late 1991. The recce Phantom was placed into storage to AMARC with inventory code FP0792 from 9 December 1991 to July 2008. It was brought back to life as QFR-4C with the 82nd ATRS as AF369. The Phantom was shot down as an aerial target on 7 November 2012.

It was retired on 21 April 1991 and became an aircraft battle damage repair instructional airframe at Ramstein up to April 2018. The recce Phantom was brought into shape again and is preserved at Ramstein since June 2020.
