Sea Dragon from INAS 315 "Winged Stallions" flying over Mumbai harbour for review by Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, President of India and Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces during President's Fleet Review 2011. Immediately followed by a Tu-142M, these LRMR/ASW aircraft work around the clock to guard India's vast coastline. INAS 315 was commissioned on 1 Oct. 1977 at Goa. From 2002 onward the Il-38s were upgraded to the Sea Dragon standard, capable of carrying Kh-35 anti-ship missiles.

Preserved on the INS Vikrant. The ship was opened to the public as a museum by the Indian Navy in 2001 after it had been decommissioned. The Government of Maharashtra was unable to find a partner to operate the museum on a permanent, long-term basis and the museum was closed after it was deemed unsafe for the public in 2012. Scrapping of the ship commenced in 2014.

Formed on 15 March 1969, the Angels have saved many lives, living up to their motto "We Dare, You Survive". Designated a Fleet Support Squadron, its Chetaks are detached for SAR and liaison duties to ships and stations as required.
