The prototype Vickers 71 Vixen I of G-EBEC of 1923 had a Napier Lion engine. The fuselage was stretched to become the Type 87 Vixen II. Next it was given a Rolls-Royce Condor engine as the Type 107 Vixen IV. Finally, it received an increased wing area to become the Type 126 Vixen VI as seen in the photo. The Vixen VI was a losing contender for the order that went to the Westland Wapiti. None of the variations of G-EBEC went into series production. G-EBEC throughout all the changes, it was cancelled from the register in 1930. Photo from: Imperial War Museums
