Swiss luggage manufacturer Rimowa financed the manufacture of this Junkers F13 replica and is building more for interested customers. Formerly HB-RIM, the aircraft was registered N13JU recently. The replica is very close to the original save for the Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior radial used as the powerplant and more modern landing gear. The German - Swiss project was launched in 2009 with the aircraft's first flight in 2016. Museum examples were studied and old manufacturing processes revived to ensure accuracy.

Why the Junkers F13 replica disappoints me I'm not sure. It's probably both the modernised landing gear and the engine. While some F 13s did have radials, an inline engine with a big stovepipe would look much better.
