The Fokker company turned out a remarkable number of different aircraft types, all manufactured in an old cramped factory in North Amsterdam. The last of these before the war, the T.IX bomber, was a milestone towards modernity as it was the first all-metal Fokker. In May 1940 the prototype was captured by the Germans, who were more interestered in its 1375-hp Bristol Hercules engines than in the aircraft itself. Photo from: San Diego Air & Space Museum
