This P-40 served with the US Fifth Air Force in the Pacific theatre and was abandoned at Tadji, New Guinea. It was recovered to the RAAF Museum in the 1970s. Restored to flying condition in Australia, it was sold to the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis in 2008.
A touch of the Messerschmitt Bf 108? That's right, the SNCAN company in occupied France not only produced the Bf 108, but also built the prototypes of the tricycle landing gear Me 208. The Bf 108 was continued after the war as the Nord Pingouin, and the Me 208 became the Noralpha.
Coming in to land while the other MS.317, F-BCNL, turns to final. The MS.315 trainer first flew in 1932. 350 examples were built, some of them after WWII, and in the 1960s 40 were converted to MS.317 glider tugs with Continental R-670 engines.
