Built by Supermarine during late 1945. This Spitfire was not commissioned with the Royal Air Force (RAF) until 1951 and operated until 1956 when decommissioned. During 1956, New Zealander Sir Keith Park, commander of RAF No 11 Fighter Group during the Battle of Britain and Defence of Malta had this Spitfire donated and temporarily displayed at Hobsonville Airfield. Afterwards, donated to Auckland War Memorial Museum to honour the RNZAF personnel who flew Spitfires during WWII.

Probably built in early 1943 and damaged by bombing on Bougainville in late 1943. Captured and shipped to New Zealand in 1945.
